What a coating does, and what it doesn’t
It does
- Add gloss and a slick, glassy feel
- Make water bead and roll off, so dirt has less to stick to
- Resist UV, bird droppings, bug residue and road grime better than wax
- Make washing faster and easier
It doesn’t
- Stop rock chips or door dings (that is paint protection film)
- Remove existing swirls or scratches (that is paint correction)
- Mean you never have to wash the vehicle

Glass coating

A water-repellent coating for glass. Rain beads and clears at speed, which helps visibility in a storm, and the glass is easier to clean.
Leather coating

A breathable coating that helps leather resist spills, dirt, dye transfer from jeans, and UV fading, without changing how the leather looks or feels.
Common questions
Does a ceramic coating stop rock chips and scratches?
No. A coating is a very thin, hard layer. It resists light marring and makes the paint easier to clean, but it will not stop rock chips, door dings or deep scratches. For impact protection, choose paint protection film, which can be coated on top.
Why does my vehicle need a detail or correction first?
A coating locks in whatever is under it, including swirls. We only coat a paint-corrected or enhanced finish, and the vehicle needs at least a Level 2 detail. Unless the vehicle is brand new, the wheels are also de-ironed and polished where needed.
Is the number of years a warranty?
The years are the product’s rated durability with proper maintenance, not a promise. Warranty terms, where they apply, come from IGL and are explained when you book. How long a coating lasts depends on washing method, storage and driving conditions.
How do I look after a coated vehicle?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, avoid automatic brush washes, and dry with clean microfiber. We go over care instructions when you collect the vehicle, and offer a monthly maintenance program for coated vehicles.
